Replacement equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may contain new or previously used genuine Apple parts that have been tested and pass Apple functional requirements.
If your iPhone 13 screen is cracked, not responding to touch, or not showing a picture when your phone is powered on, use this guide to restore your iPhone to working order with a new screen, a.k.a. display assembly.
Note: True Tone and auto brightness functionality is disabled after a screen replacement, even when using an original Apple screen. Face ID is also disabled, unless the iPhone is running iOS 15.2 or newer.
This article is for cracked or damaged screens. If your screen is flickering, see Surface Pro 4 screen flickers or is scrambled. If your Surface touchscreen is having problems, see What to try if your Surface touchscreen doesn't work.
If you have your screen replaced by Apple, they will ensure that it is correctly sealed. But, as mentioned, it is not waterproof. Liquid damage is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty so you always need to bear that in mind.
Most of us have had this dreadful accident on our phone at some point, and as a result, the phone needed to be repaired. One excellent question If the back of my phone is cracked, is it still waterproof?
Let's go through the term again before we get into the answers to Is my phone still waterproof if the back is cracked: Waterproof is a term used to describe something that is impervious to water. Wellington rubber boots, for example, do not allow water to get through. It's completely dry.
To prevent water from entering the gadget, all phones have an adhesive coating between the body and the glass frame. Removing the shattered screen will likely break the glue and be ineffective. The smartphone should be repaired by removing the old glue and applying a new layer to the phone case.
Is it true that a cracked screen affects waterproofing?Even if the rear of the iPhone 13 is cracked, is it waterproof? Although the Apple iPhone is not waterproof, the following iPhone models are: iPhone 7 (Plus), iPhone 8 (Plus), and iPhone X, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 are the latest iPhone models. iPhone is waterproof for up to 30 minutes thanks to IP67 certification. 1 meter deep.
These devices can withstand splashes and dust. Water can still reach the OLED screen despite the damaged glass, but it will not affect the display. Even so, the phone is water-resistant and never gets wet. However, even a minor breach could allow water to enter, therefore the answer to the question is yes, my phone is still waterproof if the rear is cracked? No, because the phone may be harmed by the water.
If you place a cracked iPhone 13 in a bottle of water, the liquid will seep into the phone. Even after such incidents, several users claim that their iPhone continues to function normally. This is due to the fact that the phone's circuit board has not been corroded by water.
Many customers noticed that their iPhones became less and less responsive over time until they operated longer. A flaw in the armor is a crack. Unavoidably reduces water resistance due to a breach. So, in this case, the answer to the question, "Is my phone still waterproof if the back is cracked?" is, once again, NO.

Got my phone (iphone13 pro max) 2 weeks ago today. Tonight I noticed what appeared to be an eyelash on the screen when it didn't move I lifted the corner of my screen protector thinking it was under it. As I did this a crack began to spread through screen at the top. This phone has been in an otter box defender case and has a screen protector and camera protector since arriving in the mail from my service provider. It has never been dropped or dinged. I just upgraded from the iPhone 6s, if this tells you how careful I am with my phones to ensure making them last me. My phone states I still have 48 days to add the apple care protection but I really feel like this is a defect of the phone and being it is only 2weeks old my phone should be replaced at no cost to me at all. Has any one else experienced this with the iPhone 13 pro max and if so how did apple handle the issue? After this I am really considering switching to Samsung. These are too $$$$ pricey $$$$ to be experiencing this kind of headache.
All anyone can advise you to do is to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and show them the phone. Apple won't let you add an AppleCare+ plan to a phone with a cracked screen. If Apple determines the phone has a manufacturing defect (somewhat unlikely), they'll replace the screen. If they determine the phone does not have a defect, you'll have to pay for a screen replacement. Don't shoot the messenger. This is a user to user only forum. You'll have to discuss this with Apple directly.
The same situation, I have had my iPhone 13 Pro since the new 2022 year (less then 3 weeks) I handled it very carefully and it certainly did not fall or hit. Now I decided to wipe the screen when I rebooted my phone and on the black screen it became visible the thinnest but huge crack, it's long, from edge to edge and clumsy. This is obviously some kind of marriage of the new phone, but it can hardly be proved? No other damage, it's brand new! I think it's a production bug :(
I've googled unexplained cracks too and a very large percentage of them do involve OtterBox cases which are extremely tight fitting and if you do not follow the instructions perfectly you will stress the screen and cause cracks. This is not a fault of the screen.
Plus the display unit has nothing to do with Face ID, if a third party screen is installed and the repair shop knows what they are doing they will not disconnect the True Depth camera leaving Face ID in working order. You will get messages about it not being an Apple screen and won't have True Tone anymore.
If the screen somehow does crack from the inside out that is considered a manufacturing defect and Apple will replace it under the warranty. If the damage is external, either from a blow or stressing it, then it is user damage and not covered by the standard warranty.
You aren't very well informed, are you? iOS 15.2 was release a couple of months ago, iOS 15.3 was just released. And neither of them, since they are software updates, provide any changes to micro soldering on the logic board. And no, they don't extend the ability to work with the security enclave nor the True Depth camera. If a 3rd party technician is careful they can replace a screen without disconnecting the True Depth camera nor interfering with the security enclave so the 3rd party screen will work. This is not new. Apple has also announced a self repair program for battery replacement and other self repair sometime in the future for the iPhone 12 and 13 series, but since none of them need batteries yet it may be awhile. The rest of your post isn't applicable to this thread.
